Dressed in a beautiful finish and featuring appointments you'd often find on higher-end guitars, the Epiphone AJ-220S sounds just as good as it looks. Built on advanced jumbo body design, the depth of the body and the width of the shoulders create a large sound chamber, presenting tone that is full, deep and loud.

The mahogany back and sides paired with a solid Sitka spruce top bring out rich harmonics, lots of projection and clarity in tone. A glued-in, dovetail neck joint keeps the Epiphone acoustic guitar's neck and body stable without losing any subtleties in tone. The mahogany neck adds strength, as the wood is quite durable and will stand up to the elements. The rosewood bridge and fretboard produces lasting sustain, in a deep appearance.

Dressed in a polyurethane finish and featuring such desirable appointments as Grover tuners and nickel hardware, you will love the look of the Epiphone AJ-220S guitar as much as its sound. Built under the expertise of Epiphone's master craftsmen, this acoustic guitar will sound excellent for a very long time. And at this price, you can't go wrong.

Epiphone AJ-220S Acoustic Guitar Features:
6-string acoustic guitar
Advanced jumbo body style
Mahogany back and sides
Solid Sitka spruce top
25-1/2" scale
Glued neck joint
Mahogany neck
Rosewood bridge and fretboard
Grover tuners

I have owned one of these guitars for over 5 years now and it is still in mint condition. Apart from some minor cosmetic flaws and a few trips to L&M to sort out dead frets and neck issues. I like it. I have since owned a Simon and Patrick Songsmith and a Seagull S6 and both these guitars blow the epi out of the water. Considering the S&P is less than 100.00 bucks more for a north American built guitar with twice the build quality. Well you be the judge.

I picked one of these up after starting on a laminate guitar 8 months ago. I then bought an Epiphone Pro-1 Plus in the VS which was a great start with nice sound for a lighter guitar with a solid top. But I wasn't happy with the neck feel, or the look of the tuners and head stock, There also wasn't enough lows or mids with the Pro-1. So after listening to several clips of the AJ220 in action, hearing what others said about the satin neck and shape I had to have one and haven't been disappointed in the 5 months I've owned it. Mine is an Indonesian version. I've changed strings twice, and added tusk pins and found I like playing with mid weight coated strings which still have a sweet enough tone, while still giving good low end as well. The finish had a couple of minor fish eyes near the pick guard and of course the stylized E is pulling away slightly from the pick-guard. I haven't had any of the neck issues that others have complained about, it plays well all down the neck. Otherwise, it's a beautiful instrument that punches way over it's class and I'll hang onto for a long time.

have played piano by ear for years and now decided to branch out into guitars. Researched via web and stores to hear the tone. Plus, this was part of the student pool at the music lesson center. Made for a deep discount on the pricing !! The fingers are starting to blister cause I just LOVE the deep rich tones and ability to get some great volume when I want to. Soooo Happy !!! You will be too.

So, you've been playing for some time now, and want to upgrade your plywood strum-box to an authentic tree wood guitar. Well, step right over here young man/woman/dog/pony to the enchanted epiphone emporium. A good guitar for the price. A bit old fashioned, thickish neck, moustache headstock type of thing. Despite the nice spruce top, the bracing is thick and the bass is fairly weak, even with medium phosphor bronze strings. It is biased towards mids and highs and within this range tonal clarity and loudness is better than laminate guitars. Frets come fairly gritty but will probably smooth out. It is smaller bodied than most Yamaha jumbo bodies. I've gone back to yamaha jumbo's since my time with this guitar, for overall fit and finish, and bass response.

I am a drummer of 16 years and for the past 5 years I have been wanting to learn how to play the guitar. I finally made the decision! I bought this Epiphone guitar yesterday and so far I love it. I chose it strictly on the look and feel, and the price seemed to work well for me too. It was not the cheapest guitar but certainly not the most expensive. It seems to be great quality and is a perfect starting point for a new player... After buying this guitar I came straight home and played chords for 2 hours. Though I do not have the experience of a veteran player, I can say that so far I love this guitar and I cannot wait to learn more. This is a great guitar for beginners who do not want cheap junk and I always shop at L&M! The guys are super helpful and they cannot be beat in price. I recommend if you are just starting out and want something that will last and give you the ability to learn well that you consider this guitar! Rock on!

A very outstanding guitar !!! when I bought this one with my brother for his 14th birthday ... I can't believe that he actually dropped it ! And then I'm shocked about what will be the sound ( because my past acoustics had a reverb / echo after a drop ) but when suddenly I tested it ... I was amazed ! It didn't have that awful sound after dropping ... Well , but my only problem was the insignia of the Epiphone in the Pickguard and it was totally getting off it ... but for all , It's outstanding :)

One year ago I bought this guitar, my first. I had the guy in the store play all the guitars in this price range and this one sounded best. Now that I can play a bit I have tried other guitars more expensive guitars and this sounds and feels as good as anything. In the 200 dollar range you cant go wrong and it seems that it is sounding better with time.

I walked into the store after a meeting in sackville and basically had myself convinced that I was going to get a yamaha. I am a beginner and from what I read online they were "the best bang for your buck". But after playing several guitars (yamaha included) I kept coming back to this one. I just knew it was the guitar for me. I had a friend play it and she fell in love with it as well. It was so easy to play and I loved the sound.

Sounds are nice and rich. Quality was a bit poor... Sloppy glue marks left all over, small but noticeable imperfections in the paint, small nicks, etc. Other than that, worth the $170 I paid for it in January

I was looking for a regular, not overly expensive accoustic guitar. I didn't want to spend anything more than 250$. For the price, this is a wicked guitar!!! Best bang for your buck. Recommend to anybody!!!

but like all new guitars be sure you check for dead frets. too check for a dead fret press down the bottom string and check each note all theup the neck then do the same with the top string if the notes are not clear(or you get a dead sound)you have a dead fret they usually do dead after the 10th fret and 20th frets. they can be easily fixed by the music store in a matter of minutes and will save you the headache of bringing it back after you get it home

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
